2009 - Juniors Yankees win Lethbridge Invitational Junior's Tournament
The CalSouth Yankees participated in the 16 Team Lethbridge Junior Invitational over the May 23 - 24th weekend. The Yankees went 4 and 0 to win the Tournament. The Yankee's dominated their opponent's with tight defense, allowing only 3 runs to cross the plate all weekend. With a quick start, the boys took out Sparwood 19 - 0 with home runs by Colin Macfarland and Chase Tomie, then played Rocky Mountain Blue Jays from Calgary taking the game 14 - 1. The semi final game was against the Fish Creek Cubs, the toughest battle of the weekend with the kids coming out on top 7 - 2. In the Finals, the Team played the Lethbridge Pirates and won 10 - 0, with 2 double plays eliminating any threats of a comeback.
Congratulation Yankees!

2009 CalSouth Juniors Yankees make finals at Medicine Hat Juniors Tournament
The CalSouth Yankees also participated in the Medicine Hat Junior's Tournament over the May Long Weekend. The Yankees went 3 and 1 in their half of the pool, including a 12-1 win over Fish Creek Indians, a 15-5 win over Med Hat Budget Blinds, and a 4-3 nail-bitter over Med Hat Prime Printing. The one loss was to Airdrie by one run, 7-6. In the finals against the CalWest Indians, the Yankees fell behind 4 – 0 early but rallied to take a 6 – 5 lead after 5 innings. Our boys could not hold on as the CalWest Indians ultimately won 16 to 6. The boys had a great weekend, having to battle through injuries and a short bench of only 10 kids on the roster.
WAY TO GO Yankees!
